Atelier FM was founded by Brazilian designer Fabiana Machado, who for the past several years has personally and professionally divided her time between New York and Tbilisi, Georgia. Particularly inspired by the design philosophy of the French Arts Décoratifs period, a moment in time associated with both luxury and modernity with an emphasis on highly executed craftsmanship, Atelier FM offers curated, collectible designs that reflect a sense of timeless elegance and restrained opulence.

Focusing on creating forms of exquisite simplicity, Atelier FM’s mission through every collection is to set the stage for a precise selection of sumptuous materials to speak for themselves. Employing a passion for impeccable craftsmanship — each piece is sculpted by masterful artisans and worked by hand from beginning to end — no detail is overlooked, even if the ultimate effect is one of restraint that both entices and relents the human gaze. Atelier FM places great importance on collaborating with diverse artisans, highlighting their unique talents and showcasing their individual strengths through each collection.

While blending different cultures and paying homage to Machado’s appreciation and respect for the past without ceasing individuality, Atelier FM exudes a classic signature and stand-alone appeal that remains relevant over time.

Continuous Series

Each sculptural piece from Atelier FM’s debut Continuous Series incorporates rectilinear, modernist lines that travel unrelentingly beyond inspection. Each material tone and finish was purposely selected to evoke a “tone-on-tone” aesthetic of stark neutrals in which no one element speaks louder than the other. All materials are interchangeable, designs are gracefully proportioned, and silhouettes are deliberately discreet without lacking character and confidence, resulting in a timeless collection with a refined attitude.

Atelier FM approaches the construction of its pieces with a philosophy of duality, combining a vision of restrained sophistication with exceptional materials. High-end wood veneers — varying from different origins around the world which are meticulously chosen, prepared and applied by the hands of skilled craftsmen and women — merge with a selection of hand-picked soft leathers and muted stones in a geometric structure of elegant harmony.

The ultimate goal is to enhance by refining rather than embellishing.

Additions Series

As a follow up to its debut collection, Atelier FM presents Additions—an intimate series that further exemplifies its reverence for the timeless heritage of furniture craftsmanship.

The name Additions reflects its role as an extension of its predecessor designed to complement while introducing new creative forms. This collection is an intimate and personal one, not only in scale but also in the creative journey it represents. While maintaining the sculptural rigor that has become a hallmark of Atelier FM, the series invites a tactile and visual experience shifting focus to softer, more sensuous materials such as parchment and Australian pure virgin wool sablé infusing the pieces with a quiet femininity that balances their bold structural forms.

Comprising of only three pieces, Additions is a celebration of materiality featuring the luxurious East Indian Laurel veneer, a complex and in this case, rare vintage material, as well as intricate upholstery work by the hands of master artisans. Each piece is part of a limited edition of 12 + 2 Artist Proofs, ensuring exclusivity and artistry in every detail. Additions represents a collaboration with new artisans whose unique strengths and techniques were pushed to their limits, resulting in pieces that celebrate tradition and innovation.

These works, while subtle in intention, showcase supreme craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail, offering versatility as either understated complements or striking focal points reinforcing Atelier FM’s commitment to creating furniture that is both timeless and uniquely modern.
